Neighbors helping neighbors since 1979.
An all-volunteer department serving Garysburg, NC and the surrounding areas of Northampton County. No paycheck. Just neighbors who show up.
More than just fighting fires.

Emergency Response
Structure fires, brush fires, vehicle accidents, and mutual aid calls across Northampton County. When the pager goes off, we go.

Community Outreach
Station tours, school visits, and fire prevention education for the neighborhoods we protect.

Training and Readiness
36 hours of training per year minimum. Meetings every 1st and 3rd Wednesday. The stakes are real.

Mutual Aid
We back up neighboring departments across the county. When they call, we show up. Same goes the other way.

Youth Development
Our junior firefighter program takes kids ages 14 through 17 and gives them real training, real responsibility, and a reason to show up after school.

Training day · full turnout & SCBA
Junior firefighter program.
We started the junior program a few years back and it has turned into one of the best parts of what we do. Teenagers from the area come in, train alongside adult members, and learn what fire service actually looks like from the inside.
They get real training, real responsibility, and a head start if they decide to pursue fire or EMS as a career. Some of our junior members have gone on to paid departments. Others just wanted to do something useful with their free time. Both are fine with us.
If you have a kid who might be interested, or you are a teenager reading this yourself, reach out. The application is the same one adults use. Just select "Cadet" as the membership type.
